Fellowship Programme

In November 2019 Lampost launched Lampost Luminaries, a 10-month fellowship programme. The programme was a proclamation to all emerging female creatives on the cusp of greatness to take a journey with us. The response was incredible, ranging from self-taught applicants to graduates entrusting us with their profound stories and curated portfolios. Our panel carefully and rigorously went through each submission first independently, then as a group. After much discussion and debate, we were left with 12 finalists. The second phase was a face-to-face with each shortlisted candidate. We encountered so many talented, inspiring hopefuls but thankfully after final deliberation, the panel came to an unanimous decision and on 21 December 2019 we had our four inaugural recipients! The final 4 were introduced to the industry in early February 2020 and embarked on their 10-month up-skill programme immediately.

In March, with the pandemic bringing forth the hard lockdown we became creative, utilising our resources to run the programme virtually through video mentoring, workshops, skills training and regular communication. Despite a disruptive first year, the 4 women were able to complete their 10-month programme with 10 projects under their belt, thanks to the team at Lampost Luminaries, our network of photographers, videographers, artists and industry leaders. We could not have accomplished what we did without the passion, time, valuable equipment and resources from our partners and sponsors. Embarking on a programme takes vision, dedication and commitment - at Lampost Luminaries we are proud to say that we have plenty of these characteristics.
